Perez Ties Brett's Record | Kansas City Royals News

Salvador Perez just tied a historic franchise record with his 317th home run for the Royals, sparking a comeback win and sweeping the Giants — and he’s now one blast away from breaking George Brett’s long-standing mark. After nearly two decades with the team, starting as a 17-year-old from Venezuela, Perez has been the heart of the Royals through triumphs like the 2015 World Series MVP and tough, losing seasons. His loyalty is legendary — he even called the GM himself to stay in Kansas City. With only seven active players having spent 12+ years with one team, Perez’s dedication is rare and inspiring. The crowd roared his name after the game as he honored his family and fans, showing the deep bond he shares with the city. This record isn’t just about numbers — it’s a tribute to his enduring passion and legacy. He’s not just chasing history — he’s rewriting it.
