Perfect Faith

The subject for discussion was inspiration. My Grandson asked, “Grandpa, what inspires you?” My immediate answer was, “Jeopardy, the Olympics, a good trumpet player, and John O’Leary’s podcasts.” After some thought, I told him that my faith, given to me as a gift at baptism, is my most cherished inspiration. This beautiful sacrament not only brought me into the family of God but assures me of forgiveness and life everlasting in heaven. Since God is with us on every step of our lives, we have the assurance of everything hoped for and the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). Life on earth is temporary, but because of our faith in Jesus, our heavenly home is secure.
