This episode of the Quit Playing Small Podcast is brought to you by iQuitplayingsmall.com where you can get your copy of a Quit Playing Small companion book to this part. It's filled with daily inspiration. You didn't know you needed it. Hello most awesome one.

I'm Ayanna Angel and you are listening to the Quit Playing Small Podcast. You're a space for inspired thinking, encouragement and goodness. Alright, now that we're feeling good, let's go ahead and dive into our bit of inspiration for the day. A focus on perfection will distract you from your journey to being your best.

You'll never start if the prerequisite is perfection. You'll be distracted by what you don't know and cannot do or think you don't know and think you cannot do. Perfection is a prison and fearlessness is your key. Admittedly, I've never been a perfectionist and sometimes that felt like a bad thing.

I felt like, oh, there's so many people who would probably do this better than me because they have a goal of getting it exactly right, getting it perfect. I felt like I was an underachiever sometimes, where my expectations of myself were not high enough. However, as I've experienced life and seen how there are certainly other factors tied in with that expectation of perfection from yourself, I feel relief. Perfection is a heavy burden to carry.

If you're looking to achieve greatness in life, your validation for your achievements won't come wrapped in perfection. You have to get out and try and fail and learn and try again because that brings achievement, advancement, experience and understanding. Perfection brings excuses and paralysis. Be free.

Today we have to shorten sweetness. Sometimes that is all you need. As always, thank you so much for spending time with me today, sending you big love, positive vibes and I hope you have an amazing rest of your day. Be well.

The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene (Full Audiobook) Robert Greene Amoral, cunning, ruthless, and instructive, this multi-million-copy New York Times bestseller is the definitive manual for anyone interested in gaining, observing, or defending against ultimate control – from the author of The Laws of Human Nature. In the book that People magazine proclaimed “beguiling” and “fascinating,” Robert Greene and Joost Elffers have distilled three thousand years of the history of power into 48 essential laws by drawing from the philosophies of Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, and Carl Von Clausewitz and also from the lives of figures ranging from Henry Kissinger to P.T. Barnum. Some laws teach the need for prudence (“Law 1: Never Outshine the Master”), others teach the value of confidence (“Law 28: Enter Action with Boldness”), and many recommend absolute self-preservation (“Law 15: Crush Your Enemy Totally”). Every law, though, has one thing in common: an interest in t Tao Te Ching by Laozi (Author), Stephen Mitchell (Full Audiobook) Laozi Lao-tzu's Tao Te Ching, or Book of the Way, is the classic manual on the art of living, and one of the wonders of the world. In eighty-one brief chapters, the Tao Te Ching looks at the basic predicament of being alive and gives advice that imparts balance and perspective, a serene and generous spirit. This book is about wisdom in action. It teaches how to work for the good with the effortless skill that comes from being in accord with the Tao (the basic principle of the universe) and applies equally to good government and sexual love; to child rearing, business, and ecology. Stephen Mitchell's bestselling version has been widely acclaimed as a gift to contemporary culture.
