Performing on The Voice! - with Ms. Riley
from Holy Moly Podcastaroony Hosted by Rick Liston
In this episode of Holy Moly Podcastaroony, I talk with Jessica Riley (Miss Riley from BCPS who recently appeared on The Voice!) about how her singing journey began when she was my age, growing up in Tasmania with early opportunities. She shares what it was like teaching at Badger Creek Primary School, how stressful COVID-era teaching was, and explains she still teaches part-time while music takes up most of her time. Jessica describes being encouraged into performing after others recognized her talent, even though she once aimed to be a physiotherapist, and she credits supportive parents. She gives advice about handling a tough industry full of rejection by believing in yourself and building a strong team. We discuss The Voice process, backstage “hurry up and wait,” why she chose Richard Marx due to country connections, local recognition, and her message to the Badger Creek community.
