Perseverance of the Saints

Seeing a once-prominent Christian reject faith raises a painful question: can someone who belongs to Jesus finally be lost? Jesus says He gives His sheep eternal life, and no one can snatch them from His or the Father's hand. Yet outward participation cannot prove that someone truly belongs to Him, and no one can judge another person's heart with certainty. God holds His people securely.
