By embracing the three pillars of Lent—prayer, fasting, and charity—souls can flourish and deepen their connection with God. The readings emphasize obedience to God’s commandments. Moses instructed the Israelites to follow and teach God’s laws, as keeping them not only grants life but also identifies believers as God’s children. Jesus reinforces this by affirming that He came not to abolish but to fulfill the law. His life serves as the ultimate guide to living out God’s commandments.
