from Salem Magley Church Podcast · host Chris Hirschy
Why does life still feel hard… even after Easter? If Jesus truly rose from the dead, if he really is the risen King, then why do we still struggle? Why do doubts linger? Why does suffering remain? In this sermon, we explore passages from John 20, Acts 2, Psalm 16, and 1 Peter 1 to uncover a truth that is both honest and hopeful: the resurrection of Jesus does not immediately fix all of our problems—but it does change how we see them. Through the story of the disciples hiding in fear, Thomas wrestling with doubt, and Peter proclaiming a living hope, we begin to see that the resurrection reshapes our perspective. It gives us a new outlook on suffering, a deeper understanding of faith, and a lasting hope rooted in God’s promise to make all things new. Life may still be hard. Doubt may still come. Suffering may still be part of the journey. But because Jesus lives, we do not face any of it without hope. The resurrection fixes our outlook, not our problems—and that changes everything.
