In which we accompany Anne and her acquaintances on a fresh sea-air morning walk, engaging in gentle discourse on health, society, and the prospects of acquaintances, before encountering a gentleman of certain interest whose name provokes quiet curiosity within the party. The scene closes with an abrupt and alarming accident that casts a sudden gloom upon the day and the group assembled.
