In which we find the newly settled Sir Walter and his daughter Elizabeth thriving in their elegant Camden Place residence, embraced warmly by the gaieties of Bath society and the company of an unexpectedly amiable Mr Elliot. Anne observes with mingled curiosity and guarded reflection the various social manoeuvres and affectionate overtures that surround this gentleman’s renewed presence and newfound attentions.
