Pessah in the Shadow of The War היום אני רוצה לדבר איתככם על פסח. Today, I want to talk with you about Passover. קודם כל, לחג הפסח יש כמה שמות בעברית, וכל שם אומר לנו משהו על החג. First of all, Passover has several names in Hebrew, and each one tells us something about the holiday. חג האביב – בגלל שהוא קורה באביב, Spring Festival — because it takes place in spring, חג המצות – כי אוכלים מצות, Matzah Festival — because we eat matzah, חג החירות – כי עם ישראל יצא מעבדות לחופש. Freedom Festival — because the people of Israel went from slavery to freedom. בימים שלפני החג, כולם מנקים טוב טוב את הבית ומנסים להיפטר מכל החמץ.
