PET SOUNDS & SMILE (with Jessica Lee McMillan)

In this episode of my GOTTA POP podcast, my guest is poet, writer, and music lover Jessica Lee McMillan. We discuss two legendary albums we both love: The Beach Boys' PET SOUNDS and Brian Wilson's SMILE (which famously began as an ill-fated and unfinished album by The Beach Boys). To learn more about Jessica Lee McMillan, her poetry, writings, and other things, check out her great website: https://www.jessicaleemcmillan.com/Also, here are great links Jessica nicely provided me with to share here, related to what we discussed during our show:-Joshilyn Hoisington website: https://www.joshilyn.com/aboutBreakdown of opening notes to "Wouldn't It Be Nice":  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrOjCMPTdzY-2004 Pitchfork Review of Smile by Dominique Leone: https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/8781-smile/ -Brian Wilson's 2011 liner notes:  https://www.reddit.com/r/thebeachboys/comments/9ds01z/liner_notes_by_brian_included_in_the_smile/-2004 liner notes for Smile by David Leaf: http://albumlinernotes.com/Smile__BWPS_.htmlTo find my writings and other places I am online, please visit my Linktree: https://linktr.ee/buddygottThanks for reading and watching.
