from WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon

Peter's grandfather, mother, aunt, and sister all lost their lives to multiple myeloma. Peter had tested his stem cell transplant compatibility for his sister, and it was discovered he had an abnormal protein in his blood. With checkups every threemonths, Peter was diagnosed in 2014. He started on a clinical trial, and fortunately reached remission after a stem cell transplant in 2015. His wife and family were with him throughout, providing love and support. Peter feels Dr. Ghobrial is passionate about her patients' care and ensuring they are getting the right treatment. Dana-Farber is special to him because he knows he is being treated by a doctor who is heavily engaged in research related to multiple myeloma and is on the leading edge of research. Peter loves playing ice hockey with his friends and reading, spending the summer at their camp fishing and kayaking. Peter is retired, but formerly worked in higher education fundraising.
