Peter: Living Hope

Primary Scripture: 1 Peter 1:1-3 In this episode of Rod Talks, Pastor Rodney introduces a study on the First Book of Peter. He highlights Peter’s credentials as an apostle who witnessed Jesus’s life, died to his old self after denying Him, and was restored to lead the early Christian movement. Addressing a scattered, persecuted audience, Pastor Rodney explains how persecution unexpectedly spread Christianity. He urges believers to focus on the Great Commission rather than divisive theological debates, emphasizing three core themes from 1 Peter: God’s abundant mercy, the spiritual new birth, and a living hope grounded in the resurrection, encouraging Christians to remain steadfast and pursue holiness.
