My today’s guest is Peter Lorenz. In contrast to the other guests so far, he is not my client. And quite certainly he never will be since he is a fellow architect :) He is running a renown architectural firm Lorenz Ateliers based in Vienna, Innsbruck and Trieste. But in our domestic architectural circles, he is the most known for designing the new Ilirija olympic swimming pool complex that is currently under construction and is about to be opened in May this year. It passed more than twenty years since he won the architectural competition, so I used the opportunity to unveil the story behind. It interested me why it took so long, what obstacles and challenges he faced along the way, and what impact he hopes for the project to have on the city itself.
