Peter Stack - Partners In Care

from The Sages Among Us · host KVMR-FM

Hollie Grimaldi Flores talks with Peter Stack who is an advocate working with Partners In Care who non-medical in-home care and full hospice services in Nevada County. Peter grew up in Nevada City graduated from NU and left to see the world. 38 years later, caring for his mother returned him to California and set him on an entirely different course. The experience filled him with a deep appreciation for the needs of both our elders and those who care for them. He turned his skills to marketing for In Home Care and nursing homes. About 2011, when local care homes officially were not really in contact with each other, Stack sought to “bring the senior provider community together,” He started a monthly gathering where care facilities and communities administrators, staff, and hospital workers could meet, share ideas and offer mutual support. The meetings became the Nevada County Senior Providers Network “The Breakfast Club,” and has grown to include local mortuaries, nonprofit organizations, Long term and rehab facilities and active and assisted communities personal caregivers and ample hugs. The group meets monthly and a different community hosts each month, serving breakfast.
