Petri Hawkins - Byrd

For more than 25 years Petri Hawkins-Byrd was a fixture on daytime television. From 1996 to 2021 he appeared in more than 7,000 episodes of the popular courtroom series Judge Judy. In late 2021 he was informed that he was not going to be included in a revamped version of the show, much to the chagrin of millions of fans around the world. However, Petri and his talented wife Makita Bond-Byrd, were fighting a much larger battle in real life. Makita was diagnosed with brain cancer and, praise god, underwent successful treatment earlier this year. The couple openly shares their journey together, as well as their unique perspective on life, on their YouTube series “Bonding with Byrd”.
