Pfizer’s COVID-19 Antiviral Pill + FDA Approves AbbVie’s Eyedrop for Presbyopia

Pfizer released data from an interim analysis of a Phase III trial evaluating the drug, which shows that it can reduce the risk of hospitalizations by almost 90 percent. It also prevented COVID-19 related deaths in the study. The results were so strong that an independent data monitoring committee and the FDA told Pfizer they could stop enrolling participants in the trial.
