Preparing His Bride | Aug 1, 2026 Faith is not meant to remain passive, theoretical, or confined to religious activity; it is a living response to Jesus Christ that must govern our emotions, shape our words, direct our actions, and become visible through the testimony of our lives. Rather than allowing feelings, personality, fear, circumstances, or long-established habits to dictate our response to God, we must learn to instruct our souls according to His Word, yielding ourselves to the movement of the Spirit whether that requires quietness, shouting, waiting, acting, worshipping, or stepping beyond what feels natural to us. True worship is ultimately a life brought into conformity with God, and the journey of faith involves both receiving from Him and relinquishing whatever restricts His expression through us. Faith begins with Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, because every truth, promise, doctrine, and provision of God finds its meaning and fulfillment in Him; it then progresses by being declared with the mouth, demonstrated through corresponding action, and testified through a transformed life. Like the woman who pressed through the crowd and touched Jesus in faith, there is a difference between merely being around Christ and actually reaching for Him with expectation: religious participation alone is not the same as experiencing His power. The Word must therefore move from the pages of Scripture into the heart, mouth, conduct, and daily decisions of the believer. Faith speaks in agreement with what God has said even when circumstances appear contradictory, refuses to surrender automatically to fear, doubt, sickness, intimidation, or adversity, and remains sensitive to the Holy Spirit concerning the appropriate response in each situation. This does not make faith a rigid formula, because its corresponding action may differ from one circumstance to another; what matters is responding to the particular conviction and direction God gives rather than merely reacting to natural feelings. The Christian life is therefore presented as a life of spiritual boldness, confidence in redemption, consciousness of the blood of Jesus, and an understanding of the believer's identity, justification, authority, and access to God by grace. Believers should not live primarily preoccupied with the power of darkness, but with the superior power, authority, and victory of Jesus Christ, refusing to build their theology around fear of Satan, witchcraft, curses, or spiritual opposition. Prayer, fasting, Scripture, and communion with God are not desperate attempts to persuade an overwhelmingly powerful enemy to leave, but disciplines through which believers are strengthened, sensitized to God, and equipped to walk in the authority already given in Christ. This recovery of simple, fearless faith must also restore ministry to everyday life: ministry is not limited to pulpits, organized meetings, crusades, or designated evangelism days, because the life of Christ is meant to travel with the believer into homes, workplaces, markets, airports, streets, conversations, and ordinary encounters. Every believer is therefore called to be unashamed of the gospel, available for God to use, fervent rather than lukewarm, and willing to bring the reality of Christ to others through words, prayer, compassion, power, and personal witness. The church must be rewired away from fear-centered Christianity and brought back to confidence in the name of Jesus, remembering that Christ was manifested to destroy the works of the devil and that all authority belongs to Him. The call is to recover the fire of faith: to resist spiritual passivity, retrain the mind according to redemption, speak God's Word boldly, pray and fast as a normal part of fellowship with God, evangelize with expectation, disciple new believers into truth rather than fear, and live with the consciousness that the name of Jesus is not merely religious language but the expression of divine authority. Ultimately, the life of faith is a surrendered life that continually says, “Use me”—my voice, hands, abilities, resources, circumstances, and entire life—and responds freely to the Holy Spirit, trusting that the Word received will take root, bear fruit, transform lives, and reveal the glory of God.
