Phil 1:25 Triumph Through Tragedy

Suffering for Christ is a privilege, not a tragedy. When a Christian faces hardship, it draws them closer to Christ and offers opportunities for growth. Tragedy, according to Gerstner, is anything in a non-believer's life that doesn't bring them to Christ, while everything that happens to a believer is a blessing. Even the crucifixion, seemingly a tragedy, was necessary for the triumph of the resurrection. John's Gospel uniquely portrays Jesus as the God-man, in control even during his arrest and crucifixion. The contrast between the Garden of Eden and Gethsemane highlights this: Adam fell, but Christ conquered. Suffering is a gift from God, refining faith and deepening dependence on Him. While Christians may experience what seems tragic, God orders these events for good. Believers can rejoice in suffering, knowing it accomplishes a purpose and gives glory to God. Even in tribulation, Christ offers peace and has overcome the world. For non-believers, everything is a tragedy unless it leads them to Christ. Repent and be saved.
