Phil McNulty & Jim White
from jonny_brick Hosted by jonny_brick
Manchester United fan Jim returns and brings his Oxford neighbour Phil McNulty, who is the Chief Football Writer for the BBC Sport website, making him one of the most-read football critics in the world. Though he grew up in Liverpool and his wife is a massive Red, Phil is neutral. Red on Red is a book about what many would call the Phil Chisnall Derby, named after the last player to move directly between the two clubs on the M62 motorway. Since then, both sides have had dominant eras but have seldom competed directly for the title. It remains, as per the book’s subtitle, the ‘fiercest rivalry in world football’ even as the slings and arrows have been digital rather than physical.
