Philadelphia Eagles Acquire Veteran Quarterback Andy Dalton From Panthers

The Philadelphia Eagles have bolstered their roster by acquiring veteran quarterback Andy Dalton from the Carolina Panthers. In exchange for the experienced passer, Philadelphia sent a 2027 seventh-round draft pick to Carolina. This move addresses a vacancy in the Eagles' depth chart following the departure of Sam Howell to a rival team. While Jalen Hurts remains the franchise starter, Dalton provides a seasoned presence alongside developmental prospect Tanner McKee. For the Panthers, the transaction clears significant salary cap space and allows them to transition toward younger talent behind Bryce Young. This trade reflects Philadelphia’s ongoing strategy of maintaining a deep and reliable quarterback rotation.
