In October 1943, the USS Eldridge was allegedly stationed at a naval shipyard in Philadelphia, and witnesses report it became invisible to both radar and the naked eye. Following the initial experiment, it was rumored to have teleported hundreds of miles away to Norfolk, VA then back to Philadelphia in a matter of minutes.
