Philadelphia Marathon Champ Leslie Sexton: The Value of Range and Running With Passion

from The Shakeout Podcast · host Leslie Sexton, Kate Van Buskirk

This week we speak with Leslie Sexton, coming off her win, personal best and course record at the Philadelphia Marathon. Leslie has enjoyed a successful career on the track, cross-country courses, and roads: she was a standout at Queen's University, and went on to win the Canadian Marathon Championships in 2017. But one major goal has eluded the 34-year-old: representing Canada at a World Championship or Olympic Games. With her 2:28:34 performance in Philly, she’s now in a great position to make that dream a reality in Eugene next summer. In this episode we talk about her remarkable season and about the value of range in training and racing.Learn more about The Shakeout Podcast and Canadian Running Magazine on our website https://runningmagazine.ca/category/shakeout-podcast/Follow The Shakeout Podcast on Twitter https://twitter.com/ShakeoutPodcastInstagram https://www.instagram.com/shakeoutpodcast/ andFacebook https://www.facebook.com/theshakeoutpodcast/Subscribe to our weekly show on Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/the-shakeout-podcast/id1224828899243
