-Philipians 1:9-11 - Gospel Maturity to the Praise of His Glory

If you remember, verses 1-2 were Paul’s greeting and then Paul moves into a prayer for them. Verses 3-8 were the first part of Paul’s prayer and we saw him giving thanks for them, we saw through Paul’s thanks to God. That Paul’s understanding of relationships in the church is that they are spiritual, they are hopeful, and they are missional. Now, here in verse 9 Paul moves into the meat of His prayer. He has given thanks to God for them. Now He begins to ask of for them. And His prayer for them is for Gospel maturity. That they would grow and be mature spiritually. So let’s turn our attention to this prayer that Paul prays for the Church in Philippi and how He defines Gospel Maturity.
