Philippians — Week 2

Prayer is the linchpin that keeps the wheels from coming off the Christian life, as central as breathing. Working through Philippians 1:3-11 , this message examines Paul's vigorous, joy-filled, by-name intercession for his church and asks a direct question: do you pray for your church daily? Paul's word for partnership is koinonia , fellowship and shared mission, and the teaching draws a sharp line between membership, which expects to be served, and partnership, which takes responsibility for the work. Joy here is not a mood but a settled confidence rooted in who Jesus is rather than in circumstances. The closing call addresses love that abounds in knowledge and discernment, warning that love without God's truth is not biblical love, and truth without love is not the gospel either.
