Philippians — Week 4

Philippians 1:27-30 calls believers to conduct themselves in a manner worthy of the gospel. This is not salvation by works, which is rejected outright, but a charge to those already saved by grace to live a life that reflects the value they place on the good news. The Greek word for worthy concerns worth and cost, prompting a searching question: what worth does the gospel actually have in your life, measured against your bank account, your calendar, and your children's priorities? Misusing the Lord's name is reframed as far more than profanity; it is bearing the name of Christ while living a life that contradicts it. Drawing on Revelation's warning against lukewarmness, the message argues the kingdom needs not Christians willing to die for Jesus so much as Christians willing to live for him.
