Phillies hire Don Mattingly as Bench Coach | Any chance of Bo Bichette?

The Philadelphia Phillies have hired long-time coach, Don Mattingly, to be the Bench Coach for the 2026 season. Mattingly has manager experience, as well, having led the Dodgers and Marlins in his career. He's worked with Phillies Manager Rob Thomson before, and has spent the last few years with the Toronto Blue Jays. Why is this important?
