Phillies Trade Turns Into Bullpen Gold | Kansas City Royals News

This Phillies-Kansas City trade looks like a masterstroke now: sending All-Star reliever Matt Strahm for unproven Jonathan Bowlan turned into a bullpen win and a financial coup. Strahm’s struggled badly with the Royals, while Bowlan has stepped up big for Philly, posting elite stats and filling a critical role. The Phillies shed $7.5M in salary and picked up Bowlan for under $1M — and he’s locked in for years. A move that seemed risky is now a brilliant, multi-faceted win.
