Phillip
from Truth on SermonAudio Hosted by Rev. Reggie Kimbro
This sermon examines the four appearances of the apostle Philip in the Gospel of John, presenting him not as a skeptic or administrator, but as a genuine believer whose faith was continually deepening. The analysis traces Philip's journey from his initial call to follow Jesus and his recognition of Christ as the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, to his role in the feeding of the five thousand where his faith was challenged to grow. It further highlights Philip's function as a bridge for Gentile seekers and his participation in the Upper Room discourse, where he wrestles with the profound truths of the Trinity. The central message emphasizes that Philip's life models a disciple who believes, exercises his faith, and is called to ever-increasing knowledge of Christ, offering a pastoral encouragement for believers to pursue deeper spiritual maturity and understanding of God's nature.
