Philly man pleads guilty to defrauding 2 nonprofits
from KYW Newsradio Audio On-Demand
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania says 46-year-old Seth Jones worked in the finance departments of two nonprofits from 2017 to September of last year. They did not identify the nonprofits, but did say one was the parent company of the other. Officials say Jones used a company credit card to pay for more than $290,000 in personal expenses and diverted a further $31,000 from a bank account associated with one of the nonprofits to his own account. To cover up the scheme, authorities say Jones created fake invoices and falsified expense reports. He pleaded guilty to two counts of wire fraud. Jones will be sentenced on Nov. 5. He faces a maximum of 40 years in prison. (photo credit: Getty Images)
