Dr. Leonard Grob, Lenny, is a philosopher and author of numerous books and articles focusing on the lessons of the Holocaust as they relate to contemporary issues. He is an activist regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the issues of justice and democracy here at home. Lenny talks about his roots in the Jewish world and his evolving studies of philosophy, particularly Martin Buber and Emmanuel Levinas, and how those teachings have inspired and kept him motivated in his work.

We discuss a range of issues including what brought about the loss of the idealistic spirit of the Sixties, where we are now, and how to move forward. Dr. Grob's latest book, co-authored with John K. Roth, is "Warnings - The Holocaust, Ukraine, and Endangered American Democracy." In our conversation we focus on the issues raised in this, his most political and polemical book.

He is also the author or co-author of "Encountering the Stranger - A Jewish, Christian, Muslim Trialogue," "Losing Trust in the World - Holocaust Scholars Confront Torture," "Teen Voices From the Holy Land: Who Am I to You?," "Education for Peace - Testimonies from World Religions," "Anguished Hope: Holocaust Scholars Confront the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict," and "Women's and Men's Liberation: Testimonies of Spirit," as well as numerous articles.

The Crossing: The Bridge Reno Student Ministries Pastor Danny Fierro As part of our Student Ministries Program we ask students to come up with one big question they have from the weekly study. Based on those questions we have created a podcast to do our best to answer them. These answers won't be perfect, but we will do our best to provide answers for the questions our students are wrestling with in their walk of faith. Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne Loyal Books Jules Verne is the master of classic adventure tales. Around the World in Eighty Days is just more proof that his excellent writing skills put the readers right in the book with Phileas Fogg and Passepartout. Because of a bet by his friends, Phileas sets out to get all the way around the world in eighty days.Phileas is a rich man, but also very precise about his life. He wants everything done the way he likes and will get rid of anyone who does not do that. The wager starts when he is at a local club and begins an argument about whether a person could get all the way around the world in such a short period of time. He believes he can because a new railroad has been opened in India. Because he is so sure of his mathematical figures, he takes the wager and sets off with his new valet. He has a carefully planned route for them to travel by steamer boat and railroad. Their itinerary includes crossing the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea, the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean and Numbers (KJV) by King James Version Loyal Books The Book of Numbers is the fourth book of the Hebrew Bible, and the fourth of five books of the Jewish Torah/Pentateuch. This book may be divided into three parts:1. The numbering of the people at Sinai, and preparations for resuming their march (1–10:10).2. An account of the journey from Sinai to Moab, the sending out of the spies and the report they brought back, the murmurings (eight times) of the people at the hardships by the way, and the subsequent exile into the wilderness for 40 years (10:11–21:20).3. The transactions in the plain of Moab before crossing the Jordan River (21:21–36).The period comprehended in the history extends from the second month of the second year, as measured from the Exodus, to the beginning of the eleventh month of the fortieth year, in all about thirty-seven years and nine months; a dreary period of wanderings.
