Plato, one of the world’s earliest (and still one of the world’s greatest) philosophers struggled with the question, “who is the philosopher.” He wrote a trio of dialogues (The Theaetetus, The Sophist, and The Statesman) that sought to distinguish the philosopher from the sophist and both from the statesman.
