Philosteopathy Ep2: What does it mean to find health? Chris Pohlod, D.O.

from The Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Podcast · host Benjamin Greene, MHS, Lic, D.O. and Jordan Little, DO

The science of osteopathy is the science of supportive care. It’s tapping into the pharmacy within. Still has given us a philosophy of treatment – find the health by using manipulation to remove obstruction to the body and allowing nature to take its course. On the other hand, why do so many of us have unhealthy habits? The answer may lie in the trauma we all have experienced to different degrees. For Dr. Pohlod it is the Biblical story which contains truths which lead people to overcome their trauma. The analogy of the Good Shephard is one of these key Biblical stories for healing. What about the population who is not Christian or Atheist? He responds by saying “the curious person heals, where the judging person divides.” Listening and allowing the person to be seen should never be underestimated. We as physicians should be champions of health and advocates to our patients. If you would like to reach out to Dr. Pohlod you may at: [email protected]
