from Phonons Podcast · host Phonons

Aerae is a French electronic producer and DJ whose work exists at the intersection of rhythm, texture and instinct. Her sound blends techno, downtempo and experimental drum & bass, shaped by an organic, ritualistic approach to electronic composition. Guided by intuition and a deep sensitivity to flow, she crafts evolving sound worlds that balance physical momentum with atmospheric detail. Her productions move fluidly between deep, bass-driven percussion, broken rhythmic structures and shadowy, immersive sound design. Animal-like articulations, earthy textures and subtle melodic traces give her music a living, breathing quality. Whether slow-burning or forward-driving, her tracks emphasise groove, restraint and emotional depth over maximalism. AERAE’s discography charts an increasingly refined signature. Her debut album ‘‘Percussive Reverie‘‘ (Annulled Music) explored broken rhythms and dub-infused atmospheres. ‘‘Conscientiae‘‘ (Stagno Records) delved deeper into elemental downtempo, while her first EP ‘‘Nefanda‘‘ on Samurai Music ventured into shadow-laden, experimental drum & bass with detailed sound design and ritualistic cadence. Her newest EP, ‘‘Terrā‘‘ on QEONE, presents her most immersive narrative to date. Across four tracks, she blends tribal low-end, hypnotic drones, pendulum-like movement and naturalistic sonic motifs. From the gentle pull of “Olabi” to the driving, swirling energy of “Aether,” the forest-like psychedelia of “Lenis,” and the ritualistic centrepiece of the title track, ‘‘Terrā‘‘ unfolds as a cohesive, organic journey shaped by flow, instinct and textural depth. As a DJ, Aerae builds tension with precision — layering shadowy atmospheres, broken pulses and subtle transitions that evolve with internal logic. Her sets lean into deep percussion, immersive soundscapes and controlled rhythmic pressure, creating a physical yet introspective experience. With a growing presence across festivals and clubs, independent labels and experimental electronic circles, AERAE continues to develop a personal sonic language rooted in movement, intuition and the unpredictable beauty of the natural world. https://soundcloud.com/aeraemusic https://www.instagram.com/_aerae__/ Bookings: [email protected]
