Phyllis Lackie’s Legacy at Green Valley | Las Vegas News

After 36 years as a steadfast truant officer at Green Valley High, Phyllis Lackie is retiring—but her impact? Far from fading. Since the school opened in 1991, she’s been there through rival gangs, first graduations, and every student needing a push. With tough love and unwavering belief in her students’ potential, she’s become a pillar of the school—and one of its last original staff members. At 84, she’s ready to step back, but not disappear: she plans to stay involved, mentoring and supporting the community that shaped her legacy. Her departure ends an era, but her influence?
