Muchos hemos sentido los síntomas que se manifiestan como: tensión muscular (contracturas), dolores de cabeza, fatiga, alteración del sueño, problemas estomacales, por nombrar algunos, así como la ansiedad afecta la concentración y desempeño, del mismo modo la depresión puede llevar a graves problemas. The current dynamics of life undoubtedly places us before a range of situations that impact our lives and is reflected in moods that affect physical and mental health, such as: stress, anxiety and depression whose consequences impact a very high percentage of the population. Many of us have felt the symptoms that manifest themselves as: muscle tension (contractures), headaches, fatigue, sleep disturbances, stomach problems, to name a few, just as anxiety affects concentration and performance, in the same way depression can lead to serious problems. Tener conciencia de esta información por mi formación profesional (psicóloga), más un diagnóstico médico (espondilolistesis) y encontrarme en otro país, me llevaron a la práctica de pilates en cama. Realizo esta actividad 3 veces por semana (martes, miércoles, jueves), he sido constante por 4 meses y los beneficios son sorprendentes en la conexión y concentración requerida en la ejecución de los movimientos, siendo la respiración consciente un factor determinante en la atención al presente (fuente de salud). Being aware of this information because of my professional training (psychologist), plus a medical diagnosis (spondylolisthesis) and being in another country, led me to the practice of Pilates in bed. I do this activity 3 times a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), I have been constant for 4 months and the benefits are amazing in the connection and concentration required in the execution of the movements, being the conscious breathing a determining factor in the attention to the present (source of health). Una de mis mayores motivaciones es el fortalecimiento de los músculos especialmente los abdominales y los que rodean la columna vertebral para mantenerme activa y evitar dolores lumbares (no los tengo). A medida que pasa el tiempo es notoria la fuerza en los brazos y piernas, la flexibilidad, alineación en la postura corporal, estabilidad corporal y algo que ha sido relevante es encontrar mi propio centro; la práctica constante ha permitido que estas acciones pasen a formar parte de forma automática. One of my biggest motivations is to strengthen my muscles, especially the abdominal muscles and those surrounding the spine to keep me active and avoid lower back pain (I don't have it). As time goes by it is noticeable the strength in arms and legs, flexibility, alignment in body posture, body stability and something that has been relevant is to find my own center; constant practice has allowed these actions to become part of an automatic way. Antes, no entendía mucho acerca del CORE, pero ya lo aprendí; se trata de fortalecer los músculos abdominales, espalda baja, pelvis y cadera. La clase del jueves fue ideal para tomar el video y las fotos con el apoyo de Sol (instructora), la mayoría de las veces no vienen otras personas y la sesión es para mi sola (12 m, quizás por la hora). Estoy convencida que la práctica de pilates en cama es un camino para un cuerpo fuerte, flexible y consciente; se necesita paciencia, voluntad y perseverancia para encontrar equilibrio y resultados duraderos, una excelente opción para la salud física y mental. Before, I didn't understand much about CORE, but I learned it already; it's about strengthening the abdominal muscles, lower back, pelvis and hip. Thursday's class was ideal to take the video and photos with the support of Sol (instructor), most of the time no other people come and the session is for me alone (12 m, maybe because of the time). I am convinced that the practice of Pilates in bed is a path to a strong, flexible and conscious body; it takes patience, will and perseverance to find balance and lasting results, an excellent choice for physical and mental health.
