Pinegrove - Marigold (2020)
from Album Divers Hosted by albumdivers
On this episode, Shane selects Pinegrove's new album Marigold as his 2020 pick. Shane and Trevor have fun exploring the themes of this album and hear influences that include musicians Deathcab for Cutie and Phil Elverum, as well as literary influences such as George Saunders and William Faulkner. The music itself spans genres from alt country to emo and indie. They appreciate diving into this album both for the musical and lyrical enjoyment as well as the reminders to stand up tall and stay hydrated. Included on this episode are musical contributions by Pinegrove fans Zebeeb Awalom and Paul Yoon. Links to their songs can be found below.
