Pirates Crush Cardinals with Flores Homer | St. Louis News

Pirates roar back with a 6-2 win over the Cardinals, led by Rafael Flores Jr.’s three-run homer and Brandon Lowe’s solo shot—breaking a six-game scoring drought. Six pitchers combined for just three hits, while rookie Brycen Mautz took the loss in his MLB debut despite striking out eight. Pittsburgh’s shaky defense handed the Cardinals a run in the sixth after three errors, continuing a troubling trend from Friday. A key misplay earlier gave them a 2-1 lead. With Caleb Ferguson DFA’d, Mautz stepped in—and now the Cardinals turn to Matthew Liberatore to face Braxton Ashcraft in Sunday’s finale.
