Pirates Headed to Chapel Hill Regional

ECU’s Pirates are back in the NCAA Regional for the 36th time, chasing history with their eighth straight regional appearance — a rare feat shared by just seven programs nationwide. They’ll open play Friday against No. 2 seed Tennessee in a high-stakes rematch of a 2001 super regional, while host North Carolina takes on VCU. The Pirates, winners of the American Conference Tournament, bring a 36-22-1 record into this double-elimination tournament, fueled by past battles with these teams and a hunger to make it to Omaha.
