Pirates Lose Again: 11-1 to Mets, Sixth Straight Series Dropped
from North Shore Nine: A Pittsburgh Pirates Podcast · host North Shore Nine
The Pirates followed up Saturday’s encouraging win with one of their ugliest performances of the season, falling 11-1 to the New York Mets and dropping their sixth straight series. Jim and Doug break down a rough afternoon for Jared Jones, another miserable showing by the Pirates against a left-handed starter, the decision to bring Evan Sisk into a bases-loaded situation and the continued decline of Pittsburgh’s starting rotation. Jake Mangum provided basically all of the offense, while Camilo Doval and Mason Montgomery were among the few bright spots out of the bullpen. Now 58-62, the Pirates are running out of time to make the kind of run needed to get back into the postseason race. The NS9 Postgame Show is powered by Primanti Brothers.
