Pitanga fruit

from Daily Picture · host Stephanie Hawkins

Today I saw a picture of little round unripe green fruits which were identified as pitanga fruit, also known as Suriname cherry, Brazilian cherry or Cayenne cherry. There are such a huge variety of fruits in the world, some of which we are oblivious of, some of which we have no clue how to eat and some we just simply ignore as we stick to the fruit we know, feel safe with or are interested in trying. I liken this to how we treat God's abundant provision and Truths, in general. Yesterday I mentioned the profound mystery which Apostle Paul spoke about, as of a man and woman being as one flesh, which he further says is actually about Christ and the Church. (Ephesians 5:31-32). Deep bible mysteries are gradually revealed to us, with increased understanding, if we spend time meditating on Scripture and on communing with God through Christ Jesus. In Colossians 1:26-27 we read of, "The mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord's people. To them God has chosen to make known among the gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."
