Pivoting + Navigating Grief in Motherhood with Amanda Torres

from Speak, Mother | Motherhood Burnout Recovery & Identity Reclamation · host Shannon Warner

Send Shannon A NoteI’m excited to share this week’s episode featuring Amanda Torres. Amanda is a mom, step-mom, newly empty nester and a grandma. She came on to share her motherhood journey and her message to inspire moms as a motivational speaker, and while she did do that, the conversation also flowed into how tapping has helped her navigate the loss of her father. This opened up a whole other conversation about navigating grief in motherhood, a topic that has been on my heart to share recently. I always love to see how these organic conversations unfold and today’s turned into the most beautiful gift. Even if grief isn’t part of your story, there’s good stuff in here for any mom. Here are this week's key takeaways: We are so much more than just moms. We often lose ourselves in the minutiae of the day to day. When your kids leave the nest creates a whole new season of unknowing. It’s okay if your plans change. Pivoting is okay when things don’t pan out or don’t align anymore. Look back at all experiences and identify what you can pull from each of them and how they got you to where you are now. It’s okay to take the time to pause and reflect - do I want this? Is this what I want for myself and for my family right now? And if that leads you away from your planned path, that’s okay!In seasons of unknowing - give yourself some grace if you don’t know what your next step is. Step back, and don’t feel the pressure to rush into the next thing. Remind yourself, this is where I am and that’s okay.Other people’s opinions are none of your business. Do what you need to do to fill your soul. If they’re not paying your bills, they don’t get a say in the matter. When you make a decision and release the outcome, it will provide. Make the decision. In navigating grief as a mother: do the things that feel normal. You do what you have to do because you have to keep going. Your kids need you and sometimes that means just going through the motions. Do everything you can to keep your life as normal as possible. Introduce yourself first. Claim who you are first. You are YOU first. Fill you first and the rest will fall into place. You can find Amanda on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Her podcast is available here.If you're interested in learning more about EFT/Tapping, Nick Ortner's resources can be found here. Work with me!I've created a couple of new ways to work with me to gain extra support in maternity leave planning:BUT FIRST: Have you grabbed my FREE Maternity Leave Planning Guide?
