Placebo and Patches

from LOA Today - Your Daily Dose Of Happy · host Walt Thiessen

Will Alternative Healing Methods Provide Answers to Longtime Medical Mysteries? A couple of weeks ago, Darlene Green came onto the program and told us about these miracle patches that reflect the body’s naturally-emitted lightwaves back at itself, which supposedly increases Glutatione production and thereby stimulates the activation of stem cells in the body to heal all kinds of stuff. That’s the narrative. Is it true? For years, Jodi Lynn and Walt have struggled to find answers to health issues that conventional medicine could not fully explain or cure. In a candid conversation, they opened up about their personal journeys and the questions that still linger. Jodi Lynn has faced infertility for years, with three ectopic pregnancies that have left doctors stumped. “I don’t know” has been the frustrating answer from her doctor regarding what could be causing her issues. She wonders why more tests cannot be done to find treatable causes, rather than immediately recommending the expensive and uncertain option of IVF. Walt also questioned how a doctor could declare one of Jodi Lynn’s fallopian tubes “garbage” without evidence. Their discussion highlighted the lack of individualized care and willingness to explore all diagnostic options. Walt’s own experience with an Achilles injury and a past macular degeneration diagnosis that was later denied also revealed inconsistencies in the medical system. As he pointed out, “Medicine has learned how to label diseases…but the human body doesn’t work that way.” Both are now taking their health into their own hands, determined to find healing outside the conventional approaches that provided few answers before. In their conversation, Jodi Lynn and Walt expressed hope that alternative methods like light-reflecting patches may finally start providing the progress they desire. Walt is carefully tracking results on his ankle and knee pain, while Jodi Lynn has formed a healing circle with friends to meditate on wellness. Though results take time, they believe positive thinking and support networks can make a difference—an approach not supported by traditional science. By sharing their stories, Jodi Lynn and Walt encourage others to consider options beyond standard protocols. Their journey questioning medical authorities and testing unconventional solutions continues—will it ultimately lead to the answers they seek? Walt talks about trying to speed up the healing of his Achilles tendon that has been giving him problems for the past half year. Jodielynn reveals issues that she’s had in the past few years with ectopic pregnancies that have prevented her from having the children she wants to have with her husband, Nate. She plans to use the patches for that purpose. But in today’s show, we talk about how this flies in the face of Western medicine. Included in the conversation is a quick flit through early American medical history. complete with speculation as to how we arrived at the current state of medicine today. Jodielynn and Walt have ordered the patches and plan to try them out for ourselves. In the end, we’re just going to use what we always preach here on the program:  the power we all have to use our own minds to heal ourselves. And we will keep you apprised of our progress in future episode conversations.
