In which a certain distinguished cavalry regiment suffers an unprecedented and mysterious disruption under the command of a newly appointed, rather unpopular Colonel, whose rash decisions unsettle the very soul of the troop. As an eerie spectacle involving the regiment’s sacred Drum-Horse unfolds by the watering troughs, panic takes hold in the twilight, leading to a chaotic stampede that leaves both men and horses profoundly shaken and the Colonel utterly vexed.
