Okay. This is the third time I'm recording the Friday podcast. Why? Why black man am I?

Why? One of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies because there's technical glitches. I have no idea. Here's what I know.

My daughter was over here yesterday using my studio and she was recording something and then I come in here today and it's not working and before I start, before I start, which is what I've done the last couple of times, I want to tell you, you can hear it now, my favorite, my new favorite. You know, that changes almost on a week to week basis. My new favorite TikTok channel, it's called ship underscore spotting underscore ship underscore spotting underscore. It's just the coolest damn thing I've ever seen.

You're going to have to trust me, but it's a shipyard someplace or it's a scrapyard someplace. I don't know where where all of the cruise ships go to die and there's just millions of videos and they're so fun to watch. So damn fun to watch, but that's not what we're here to talk about. Good morning Americans, it's Friday.

And I certainly hope that on this third try, on this third try, it works because if it doesn't work, there's gonna be a Friday podcast because I've had a hell of aces this week. I went for three and a half days without air conditioning. Finally got the air conditioning, central air conditioning system replaced and it screwed up my planning for the entire week. I mean, the entire week was essentially history because all of my planning went out the window.

So today what I want to talk to you about is what I now live, which is minimal planning. Okay, my life right now is plan less than when the less planning the better. Now what I have traditionally done for many, many years is I've when I was younger, I would do 12 things a day. I would plan 12 things a day.

That's what I did a yellow pad and I would write down 12 things. Some people do it on a yellow band. Some people today do it on their computer. Some people do it on their iPhone.

Some people do it on their tablet. Some people do it. I don't know. I have a yellow pad where I had 12 things that I planned every day, boom, goes to dynamite, and then I would check them off as I got them done.

That was fun. All right, that's what I used to do in later years. That number dropped down to three and for the last 10 years, at least, it has been three things a day. That's it three things a day until this year when I said, nope, one thing a day, one thing a day, sometimes two, but usually only one thing a day.

And then this week happened and all the one things a day that I had scheduled got kind of bounced back. So today was the, well, yesterday, as far as you're concerned, was my first day of getting back the things. And instead of one thing, we had two things. And one thing was a big thing.

It was a multifaceted thing, but it was a big thing in my somewhat with me and helped me and we got through it. Then we went and did a smaller thing and then we came back here and I was exhausted. I was just, you know, when you get to my age, when you live without air conditioning in West Central Florida, when the temperature outside is 90 degrees and it feels like it's 102 and the inside of your house is at least 90 degrees. It's miserable and it does a wreak havoc on my body.

So today, two things are yesterday. I mean two things today, which is Friday, damn it, I usually have no things. I have no things, but today on Friday, I have one, two, three, possibly four things. I'm going to try and eliminate the fourth thing, but that's a lot for Friday and a lot for my physically worn out body.

But generally, what I try to do is minimal planning. It reduces fatigue, it gets rid of stress. You can prioritize where I can't even talk and I don't edit. So here we go.

Prioritize just one or two key goals each day. Weekly pant planning, I kind of do it, I'm not yelling at a guy, I got this schedule for today. Yeah, monthly planning almost never. I've got a calendar hanging on my desk in my bedroom.

I have a desk in my bedroom. Why do I have a desk? I have a computer in there too. But I have a plan, I have this calendar and I'll just write things that need to be taken care of this month.

Usually it's doctor's appointments or something, I don't know, but not much. Real planning promotes a clear mind and it makes you feel good and I like feeling good. It makes, you know, it just puts us in the thing in my tummy that feels good. So what do you do?

I have an ex-wife that used to put 30 things a day on her yellow pad and if she was lucky, she would get 10 of them and then she would be frustrated and she would be unhappy and then I used to have 10 to 12, got it down to three, got it down to one. Shit happens, the air conditioner died, everything gets knocked back. Oh well, have a terrific weekend. We will see you next time on this, this, the Daily Grateful.
