Planning for a Better Future There will always be problems in the world, but there will always be multiple solutions. These solutions may take time to actually show results, so you need to be paying attention and planning ahead. You may have to give up instant gratification, but the long-term affects will make life so much better. We talk about learning from mistakes, building businesses, evaluating problems, finding solutions, and ways to improve how you learn to make better decisions.   We also talk about Trump's claim that he will make the economy so good that the deficit won't matter. We also cover how the average person commits 3 felonies a day, even when they are trying to do everything right. The system is set up for this to happen, as governments only have power to crack down on criminals. If there aren't enough of these, the government will create them with the way they make laws, so they can "cash in on guilt."  Instead of creating equality by bringing everyone down to the lowest level, we should accept that, while not equal, we should be bringing more people up with words, deeds, and by example. While one person's life may get 2-3 times better, the person next to them may get 10 times better. Only with this method, can we make the world a better place. Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
