TRANSCRIPT · AUTO-GENERATED

I have made the executive decision that I no longer like my studio chair. Well, hello, how are you? Welcome to Monday. What are we going to talk about today?

Well, how about ways you can change your life in a big way and how to plan for that? Does that sound fun? Sounds fun to me. By the way, you like the music?

It's different. Actually, it's not different. It's old music that has come back. It was written by a fellow in Nashville by the name of Mike Stewart, and it used to be the opening and closing of my gardening show.

How about that? And I just found it stuck in on this machine over the weekend and said, I'm going to try it for a while because I missed it. And I like it and I like Mike Stewart. He's a good guy.

So there's where, you know, there's where that is anyway. So you want to change your life in a big way. Is that something you're going to be grateful for? Maybe you are.

I mean, if it's something that you want to do, then yeah, well, I've been thinking about that too. But how do you do things like that? How do you plan? Scott Smith, who has the Daily Boost podcast, he's got a thing going where he does I'm fixing to get ready.

What that means is that he's procrastinating. And when you get beyond that and then you start planning, that's when you're doing the right thing. Now, you read all the books and they say, set clear goals and break them down into smaller manageable tasks and take them step by step. Yeah.

Yeah. There is that or you can do it the way I generally do things. And by the way, the way my brother used to do things and his kids do this today. And they're always very successful with it, but I never had the nerve to do it.

They would make and my nephews still will make life-changing decisions in an instant and go with it. Okay. They just boom, you know, my brother did the same thing. My brother did the same thing and they just went with it.

And for some damn reason, they were always successful. The outcome was always very good. I never had the nerve to do that. I still don't have the nerve to do that.

If I'm going to make a change and I have made changes, one of the changes I'm going to make is get rid of this damn pollen in the air. So my voice comes back. But anyway, what are one of the things I do? Is I make a plan?

But my plan only has three action steps at the max. Two is better, but three action steps. And I will not put those into a computer. I will not put those into a spreadsheet.

I hate spreadsheets. I will write them down on a yellow pad. And the first thing I'm going to write down is what do I want the end result to be? That's number one.

Number two. How am I going to get there? Now, when I say three steps, when I say three steps, that's three steps. But step number two is a bit multifaceted.

Okay. Definitely multifaceted. What are we going to do to get there? Well, we got to do a bunch of stuff.

So then you need to break that down. You know, you you settled on the yellow pad. What number one is you've then said written down, how am I going to get there? Number two, but number two is going to be, well, I got to do this.

I got to do this. I got to do this. I need to accomplish this, that and that. When you get that written down on that yellow pad, same yellow pad, you have done a lot.

Okay. And you want to keep those numbers down. All the things that you have to do, you want that number to be small, three or four at the most, three better. And when that's done, then you set a timeline.

You go to number three, when's it all going to be done? Write that down and then you look at number two again. After you've written it down, number three, when it's all going to be done, you look at number two and you say, is this manageable? If you've thought it out, it should be.

And then you can just go for it and you can make it happen. That's the simple way to do things or it's the way I do. Now you can go on the interweb and they're going to say, seek advice and guidance from mentors, friends or professionals, cultivate a support network of friends and family, practice self-care and stress management, all this other stuff. Okay.

Yeah. That's all nice. That's all good. That's all wonderful.

When I'm planning to do something, I will talk to friends about it. You know, I've got a couple of trusted people that I will talk with. And that's before I pull out the yellow pad. Okay.

Before I pull out the yellow pad, I've already done that. I've already, you know, I've talked to a couple of mentors or I've talked to a couple of friends who are smarter than me and believe me being smarter than me is not a difficult assignment. So that's what I will do. But then I go back to that yellow pad and those three things.

What is it that I want to accomplish? How am I going to do it? And that number two, make sure you got some lines underneath there to write the step by step things you're going to do. And then that bottom one, that bottom one is very important.

The bottom one is when it's going to be done. And then it's done. Boom goes a dynamite. You've made a significant change in your life.

I hope you're happy. Maybe I should do things the way my brother always did them or my nephews do them. They just say, huh, let's do this. And I've seen my brother throughout the years just make incredible changes like that.

Sometimes he's had to go back and, you know, switch things around. But generally, it's always worked for him. I will see you tomorrow.
