Plans Approved To Redevelop Former West Clare Irish College As Cultural Centre And Accommodation

from Clare FM · host Clare FM

For more than a century, Coláiste Eoghan Uí Chomhraidhe in Carrigaholt was at the heart of Irish language learning in west Clare, welcoming generations of students before closing its doors in 2017.     Now, after a lengthy planning process, permission has been granted for an ambitious redevelopment that will transform the historic building into a year-round cultural and educational centre with overnight accommodation and community facilities.     Joining Alan Morrissey earlier to discuss what this milestone means for the future of the college and the wider region was the Chair of the Board of Management, Dr Síle Ní Choincheannain.
