Plans to speed up housing in North West welcomed by Sligo Leitrim TD

A Sligo Leitrim TD says news proposals being discussed at cabinet level this morning could speed up the construction of houses in the North West RegionIt's being reported that Uisce Éireann will be required to manage new privately built wastewater plants.The move is aiming to speed up the delivery of homes in rural towns and villages that currently have inadequate water services.Sligo Leitrim TD Deputy Eamon Scanlon says under the proposed changes builders will be able to develop wastewater units.Uisce Éireann will set the standards for the treatment plants and they will take ownership of them once they are built and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency.Speaking to Ocean FM Deputy Scanlon says the initiative could help speed up the delivery of much sought after housing in counties such as Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal
