Playground Neglect Sparks Community Outcry | Calgary News

Residents in southwest Calgary are furious as a Catholic school’s playground—overgrown with weeds six inches tall—goes unmaintained for months, sparking outrage over accountability and wasted tax dollars. Despite repeated pleas from homeowners like Liz Denner, the Calgary Catholic School District blamed summer holidays for delays, but residents argue the neglect is unacceptable, especially as students return to school. While the district claims the playground is still usable, locals say it looks like a neglected eyesore—and question whether public funds are being properly stewarded.
